We are called to be God’s Curators!

We care for what already belongs to God:

The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.Psalm 24:1 NLT

The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.Genesis 2:15 NIV

Curating comes with responsibility – to identify and present (use) gifts faithfully:

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.1 Peter 4:10 NIV

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.James 1:17 NIV

Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.1 Corinthians 4:2 ESV

Three areas to to be intentional curators

Three areas that require us to be intentional curators, seeded as principles in the Old Testament, coming to fruition in the New Testament, crucial to the life of the Household of Faith:

Time – to be kept

Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.Mark 2:27 NIV

Treasure – to be given

Now about the collection for the Lord’s people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem1 Corinthians 16:1-3 NIV

Talent – to be shared

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.Hebrews 13:2 NIV
