As the church, we carry a powerful message, called the gospel. The gospel is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). We want those around us to experience the hope and freedom we’ve found in Jesus—but first, we need to know what the gospel is and how to share it with those around us without it feeling intimidating.

With The Purple Basics, we want to be equipped; to know and share this powerful message and to lay a solid foundation for our faith.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Get *The Purple Basics Book and a Bible.
  2. Get 2-6 other people to join you for 8 weeks, each with the book and a Bible.
  3. Choose how you will do this - Option A, B, or any way that will work for you (below).
  4. Pray for 10 people who needs to hear about the Good News (Gospel) of Jesus.

You can meet at your house, coffee shop, the church, go for a walk, online, ANYWHERE.

*You can get The Purple Basics Book at church for only £8 (we covered the delivery cost for you).

Starting October 2025!

The Focus of The Purple Basics (Click Here)

The focus of this study is what has been called "The Gospel Creed":

The gospel is the good news that God became man in Jesus Christ. He lived the life we should have lived and died the death we should have died... in our place. Three days later He rose from the dead, proving He is the Son of God and offering the gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repents and believes in Him.

Millions have attended church and studied Scripture yet lament they lack confidence to share the gospel. This study will give you both the confidence and clarity to communicate this life-changing message with others. Christ's death and resurrection provide the truth that the gospel is "public truth" - that Jesus actually lived, died, and rose again from the grave.

You can spend a lifetime studying Scripture and barely scratch the surface of God's knowledge. Yet He has communicated enough for you to know that He exists and how you can enter into a relationship with Him.

Each chapter includes:

  • Introductions to the Gospel Creed
  • Bible study questions to understand the gospel
  • Gospel summaries to master the message

OPTION A

  • Once a week, get together with your group.
  • Read the introduction to the chapter and answer the questions as you search the Scriptures together (Bible). It's important that everyone look for the answers in the Bible.

At the end of the session, share with the group:

  • What stood out to you,
  • What you need to do,
  • What you should believe,
  • Who you can share this with.

Take a few minutes to pray for people on your prayer cards.

OPTION B

  • Go through the chapter at your own time.
  • Make notes in the "Notes" section on
    - What stood out to you,
    - What you need to do,
    - What you should believe,
    - Who you can share this with.
  • Get together with your group and discuss it.
  • Take a few minutes to pray for people on your prayer cards.
