Born on Expedition

He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.2 Peter 3:9

wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.1 Timothy 2:4

The heart of God: He wants ALL to be saved

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.Romans 10:9

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”Romans 10:13-15

As a household of faith in Jesus, we carry the heart of God and want everyone to come to know Him.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.Matthew 28:19

Therefore, ‘as you go’ make disciples!

‘Mission’ = ‘sent’ – we are sent!
Whether we name it mission or not, our lives are mission.

We are Born on Expedition!

  1. We are to be born again – are you? cfJohn 3:1-21
  2. We are God’s Ambassadors

we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”1 Corinthians 5:20

  3. Reflect Jesus
    • Being intentional
    • Demonstrating the fruit of the spirit
    • Looking and listening for opportunities to reveal our relationship

We need to be unified not divided

You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarrelling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?1 Corinthians 3:3-4

What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task.1 Corinthians 3:5

How are we unified

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.Colossians 3:12-14

1)  Fix your eyes on Jesus

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.Hebrews 12:1-2

2)  One heart and one mind

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.Acts 4:32

3)  Practise and wear the uniform

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.Colossians 3:12
